musicians were forced behind bars and only filmed in the dark so we couldn't see their home perms, like this

eventually mtv would only permit bands who looked like supermodels onto the screen.
anyone who didn't look like supermodels were forced out of studios.
mtv had to play shows like "cribs" to fill time, because supermodels can't write very good songs or play very good guitar solos.
